Trending vacations for 2023: 🌱 Trips with lower consumer impact It’s been a year since I was back in Kenya and it’s International Zebra Day, so here’s a fun look at these stripey, unpredictable, and sometimes promiscuous equines. 🦓 Today TheMonastery.Org wished me a happy anniversary of being ordained. A good reminder to update my email signature to The Rev. Magdalena Dewane. 😆 I made it three years without getting Covid, but last Friday when I tested positive, it knocked me out hard. From a sledgehammer on my chest to ants crawling in my skin to the acheyness and fatigue I couldn’t shake—I don’t wish that on anyone. I imagine Native American elders across tribes must find much of North America unrecognizable today. So much wildlife has been lost due to development and human encroachment. Add climate change to the mix, with warmer rivers and oceans, devastating wildfires, and the earth will become inhospitable, not only for wild creatures, but humans as well.
“In dreams and in love there are no impossibilities.” How often in the summer do you opt to stay INSIDE because it’s just too gross out? Perhaps that’s a good call. A lot of the Midwest is expected to get wetter and muggier, which is prime condition for insects like mosquitoes. Insect-borne diseases will increase and move further north with these conditions.
In 2020, Democratic Gov. Ralph Northam signed a landmark climate package into law (Clean Economy Act) and joined ten other states in the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative to jointly address climate change.
